About Rijeka

Rijeka is the main port city and Croatia’s third largest city (after Zagreb and Split). It is located in Kvarner Bay, an inlet of the Adriatic Sea, in Primorje-Gorski Kotar and had a population of 128,624 inhabitants in 2011.

The main town and regional seat of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County is Rijeka. The economy of the region is primarily based on shipbuilding (“3.
